Here’s how:
1. Click the Contacts tab in the upper-left part of the page.
2. In the upper-right corner of the page that opens, click Options.
3. Under "Management," click Transfer Contacts to Yahoo!.
4. Please re-enter your password. We want to make sure it’s you!
5. And now, a permissions page. Legal stuff! Read at your leisure, and when you feel ready, click I Agree. Or of course, if you’d rather not continue, just click I Do Not Agree.
6. One more hurdle: please verify that you’ve read the Terms of Service. How? By clicking in the check-box. OK! Click Start Transfer.
7. Enter the “old” email sign-in name for the account you’re transferring from, and in the pull-down menu, select the webmail domain it’s from.
* Choose from:
Hotmail, AOL, Gmail, Comcast, Yahoo!, Cox, Earthlink, MSN, Netscape, Netzero, Juno, CS, Optonline, and Worldnet.att.net
8. Enter the email account’s password. Click Next.
9. Please wait a moment while we verify this information. Thanks! If we run into a problem, we’ll ask that you please re-enter the username, provider and password info.
10. Now, leave a check in the check-boxes beside the information you’d like to transfer to your Yahoo! account. You can transfer Email, Address Book info, and usually, your Calendar info. But some webmail programs don’t feature calendars.
* Would you like to send a note to all these contacts announcing your new email address? No problem! Leave a check in the box beside “Send a note…” And if you want to write the note yourself, just click “Click here to personalize...”, and click Next when you’re done.
* Click Next to transfer the information to your new Yahoo! account.
* Done! Nice work. The “Finished” page confirms the transfer and offers you a quick route back to your Yahoo! Mail account: Take Me To Yahoo! Mail.
Please note that it may take as long as 24 hours to complete the transfer. And when it’s done, you’ll get a confirmation email in your Yahoo! Inbox.
If you have another webmail account whose info you’d like to transfer, no problem! Import from as many of the supported providers as you want.
For desktop email
Interested in transferring Address Book information from your desktop application (ie, Outlook or Palm)? If so, that’s also easy to do. Here’s how:
1. In the upper-right corner of your Mail page, click Options and select Mail Options.
2. On the left side of the page that opens, click Contacts Options.
3. On the right of this page, click Import/Export to get started."
Ysocreus replied: "well i read the answer from 'fewcw' sounds complicated and really doesn't make sense to me for ure question
gmail allows both pop3 and imap forwarding if u open gmail in the web browser and go to the options u can enable forwarding from a different account (don't know if network solutions is pop3 or imap) but u can enable gmail to recieve ure emails from there to gmail
i mean u tell gmail 'hey forward all my mail from network solutions to here' or actually it's 'import all my mail from network solutions to here'
just go to the options in gmail u'll find it" What website builder should I use to host on Network Solutions? I have a website built on Network Solutions and it looks so unprofessional. I want to build a website with another program instead of the one they provide for free. What would be a compatible, relatively easy to use program? I have built some basic websites using FrontPage and a couple from Network Solutions website.
And, basically, once I build it is easy to load to their website?
Thanks Sanjeev J replied: "You can get basic business website in 70 us dollars. It will include domain name, hosting and cms system to create and update your website yourself." How do you use the wysiwyg tool that Network Solutions provides for website designing? I signed up with the Network Solutions Pro Ecommerce package for my new webstore and I am in the designing phase, but I have no idea how the wysiwyg tool works. I know that it is suppose to function like Microsoft Word, but I have only used Word for simple letter writing, not designing. I am totally lost. Can anyone explain how to import graphics like photos or point me to a site that has instructions? I would like to design the header and add some photos, but don't have a clue. Help!
Thanks to all! Don M replied: "Wysiwyg means what you see is what you get.
SO whatever you see on the page you create is what you will get.
Don't forget to SAVE. and SAVE AS and PUBLISH or you will have to start over.
Read through the Menu Bar at the top and get familiar with the options.
Center the page and choose the Fonts or letters you want to use as well as the colors.
You can play with it a while and get what you want. If you don't save it you can start over as many times as you want, it won't hurt a thing.
Use the Insert Option to download Pictures.
Don" How do you make your index page work using Network Solutions? I'm trying to create my website and don't know how to use Network Solutions. How do you make your index page load to the domain? Randall O replied: "Download Filzilla and use that to FTP your info up to the web. If you have the service then download your index and files into HTDOCS. Or call them on the toll free number. They are very helpful. Good luck" What's a good slogan for a technical network solutions start-up business? My friend is starting up a small computer consulting business and needs a tagline/slogan. "One Call Solves Them All"" I bought a url from network solutions. How do I host the site from my computer? I wanted to save some money and have 150 Gigabytes on my computer to use for it. So whats a good free program besides Apache. I also want to know how to use the program with a network solutions domain. If it helps any I bought a .com url please I want the site but I don't want to pay for hosting. I also want to have tons of room and most hosting sites give you only around a Gigabyte
Thanks! John replied: "OK Apache is the heart of the internet. So no mater what software you may use, it should have Apache (of some form) running behind it. The best windows based software is Xampp. It has everything you need and you can install it within 15 minutes. I use it all the time to test my servers software, before I publish my sites. You will be surprised how easy it is to use.
One problem you might have is with your internet provider. Most IP's will not grant you a static IP address, so hosting your URL will be an issue. You can call your IP and request a static IP and let them know you want to host your own URL. I added a few links below for Xampp, the last one is my link, just in case things don't work out and you need help parking your new URL. Good Luck"

tekki replied: "the cost your going to put into hosting a website on your own outweigh the benefit you'll get off your website. Just think, you're computer is going to run up the electricity bill and it'll will just eat up your bandwidth. You also leave your computer vulnerable to malicious attacks.
Why not just find a host for a decent price? There are plenty of sites out there that will host your site for under 20 bucks a year. I'm with squarehost.com right now. I pay 16 bucks a year, cheapest you'll find around." How do I get value from Network Solutions? Recently I got a couple of domains from Network Solutions. A colleague in IT just raved about how they're the best, they have the most services, they're the Hertz/VISA/Nike/AmazoneBay of web services - how could I go wrong?
Well, I'm thinking I did go wrong. Though my friend touted the "free" website setup I could get at NS, I ended up paying $60 annual for lowest-tier web hosting. That's OK, but then I found out I had to use THEIR web design tool - and after a 30-day trial, THAT will also cost me. Further, their tool is worse than inflexible - it fails to function because it overrides or erases my setup.
What I'm thinking now is to transfer my domains (since I own them now) to another web service (GoDaddy or some other). I want to contact my credit card company and cancel the web hosting/design tool part of my purchase with NS.
Has anyone dealt with managing their own domains and websites? Any *good* advice (as opposed to my colleague's) as to what my options are now? Taztug replied: "You can leave the domain names registered with NS if you want. I have found them to be reliable for domain registration. You can then host your domain at any location that you want.
Domain name registration and web site hosting are separate functions and don't have to be at the same company. I have worked with numerous companies that host their own site but register the domain name else where. It is a fairly easy process. All you will need to do is once you have the web hosting site ensure they enter the proper DNS records for your site. That will then propagate across the Internet. You can tell NS where the site is once you set it up and they can also update their DNS and WHOIS database." What are the commonalities between Network Solutions and Yahoo? Network Solutions is another online e-mail service. girl12233 replied: "there both websites" Where do sites like godaddy and network solutions get their domains from? How do they get their domains?
